ACTS of CARE: 2022 Community Service Project Competition

In a time when we all could use a helping hand, how will you reach out?

For the ACTS of CARE: 2022 Community Service Project Competition, each scholar will have an opportunity to submit a proposal for a community- based project. The proposals must be consistent with the project competition’s theme “Uplifting through Education.” The topic and type of project is open to scholars’ interpretation of service through education. All projects should meet the community and budget needs, as determined through research and by adhering to project guidelines.

First Place Team

First Place Team Wins:

  • Cash Prize: $5000
  • A chance to fully fund your community service project
  • Credit for all spring Schoology assignments and credit for all 48 hours of community service!

Second Place Team

Second Place Team Wins:

  • Credit for all spring Schoology assignments and credit for all 48 hours of community service!

Third Place Team

Essential Timeline Dates

  • March 7: Proposals Due
  • March 14: Top proposals announced to all scholars. Application made available to apply to be part of one of the programs. 
  • March 20: General team member application due
  • March 27: Team leaders final team selection due
  • March 28: Email sent to all selected general team members assigning them to project
  • March 28-April 22: Weeks of Preparation
    • Sunday, April 3: Project Proposal submitted to Coach
    • Sunday, April 10: Research Wrap Up/Available for Coach Review
    • Sunday, April 17: Final draft of written grant submitted for presentation selection.
    • Wednesday, April 20: 5 Final Teams announced to present in Saturday’s live competition
  • Saturday April 23: Virtual Competition Presentations
